recommend 4.1 speakers

can you guys recommend a good set of 4.1 speakers for about $100? my creative 4.1's are starting to crap out on me. i dont need anything exotic like the logitech THX z-560's or the klipsch's (which are out of my budget anyways)

the logitech 640's would be my choice, though they are 5.1, not 4.1. you can generally get them for about $70 online.

I agree, the z540's are decent for the price, but they cant compete with the z560's, which are only about $130 shipped on pricewatch. If you really can't spend that much get the 540s.

My creative inspires seem good to me......others probaly would disagree though. Cheap they were only like 50$ and provide decent sound!

I would consider the Midiland 5.1 system (with a Dolby Digital 5.1 decoder) at compgeeks which is around $120 after shipping and coupon.

Don't forget about the rebate for the z640 speakers rebate good thru 3/31/03.

I'd also recommend watching the Hot Deals Forum (if you don't need the speakers right away). The z560 speakers have been reasonably priced lately. I picked up a set from Best Buy 2 weeks back for < $110 (AR of course).
