I like Pioneer or Asus (based on Pioneer) burners, real Plextor (Sanyo based), the new LiteOns are supposed to be better than L-Os were for a while there. I haven't been too happy with my Samsung - it has never come near to living up to its specs.

Are you looking for media or burners? For media Taiyo Yuden is the best of the best. Burners.... Samsung, Lite-On, or the real Plexor burners are the best.

Hi,

I guess I am looking for the all in one package. The only things I would be doing with it are loading software, burning the odd DVD and playing the odd CD ROM for music. I rarely use my current one.

Thank you

Note that Samsung has updated the drives, current revisions are 203D and 203P (w/o and w/ Lightscribe, respectively).
