Recomendation on LCD

I need a new moniter for my computer i'm building. I've got about 350 to spend on a LCD moniter. Going to use for gaming mostly/normal day tasks. I hear good things about moniters but most are out of my price range. Any one have recomendations they would be appreciated.

thanks

Samsung 940B/930BF (not the 930B)
Viewsonic VX924

940B and the VX924 have MIR's right now that make their price ~$300.

If you look around a bit, and scrape up a tad more $$ you may be able to grab a Dell 2005fpw at around that price.

940b is superior to the VX924 imo, it has better specs in everything except response time, and even its only 2ms difference. The viewsonic also has a very large bezel compared to the 940b which makes the screen look smaller. The only flaw is the large amount of tuning/adjustments you will have to make to the color but it comes with some of the best software for that.

wheres a good place to buy one?

I would lurk in Hot Deals, they go on special fairly often.

Yep, Hot Deals or FS/FT even. I got one NIB from FS/FT for $400 shipped, would have only been $360 if I could have picked it up locally. People were getting them direct from Dell for $334 a couple weeks ago as posted on the Hot Deals forum.

I had to face the same decission recently, choice between the viewsonic and the samsung. I went for the vx924 and I'm very happy with it. The estetics of this monitor are what makes it superior (the samsung is plain ugly). Besides, the performance is superb. Another con against the Samsung, it doesn't have a DVI cable included in the package.
