Recomend me a 13" notebook thanks.

I'm looking for a notebook that is 13" does not have anything too fancy on it at the best price possible. I'm not looking to do anything fancy on it, just surfing the web, email etc.

What would you recommend?

What's your budget?

For $1350, you can get the Asus W7s (but that would be a bit fancy): Link
The W series is known for being well constructed. The only issue with this particular notebook would be the RAM. I'd recommend sticking in a 2GB stick (figure about another $100) if you bought this notebook (one stick is soldered into place).

For about $1000, there is the Toshiba Satellite U305: link, but again, you'd probably want to upgrade the RAM to help Vista performance.

There might be more stuff available, such as grabbing something cheap in the Dell Outlet, but 13" notebooks are still not too common, so you'll probably pay a small premium over other sizes (such as 14 and 15.4")

Yeah that is what I figured.

I mean I can get a macbook 13" for about 1000, I was hoping there would be something cheaper then that for a PC but it doesn't look like it.

Do you know if there is a 14 inch from any company for about 500 with a special coupon or anything?

You could try the Dell Inspiron 1420 (new starts at $869) or attempt to grab a Latitude D620 or D630 from the outlet for under $1k.
There is the HP DV2500t and DV2000t starting at $799 and $769, respectively.
There may be coupons or hot deals floating around on those first 2 choices.

This is what's available from Newegg (all 14.1"):

Looking through the list and narrowing it down to dual-cored processors, this seems like a good deal (just add a stick of RAM): http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16834147423 ($729) and for another $50 (AR), this looks even better: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16834147465

This would probably also be a good choice ($800, but uses a Core 2 Duo instead of the Turion X2): http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16834101066

One of your best bets would be to take a look at the weekly Circuit City or Best Buy ads to see if you can get a great deal on a laptop (as long as you don't give into their extended warranty plans or accessories) and then upgrade the RAM to make it a nice machine.

You're out of luck when it comes to 13" laptops. The only big-name 13" laptops (and it's not really 13" but 13.3") are the Macbooks.
You can get 14" screens at pretty competitive prices. At widescreen resolution they're about as big as a legal size writing pad and maybe an inch thick.

Dell Vostros run $549 or more I think (without coupons or sales). Compaq or Acer laptops can be found (very often too) at sub $500 marks, although sales on 14" are becoming increasingly rare.
Stupid upsize mentality. I remember a few years back 14" laptops were considered almost monstrous.

i suggest macbook, the price is good compared to the prices of pc 13''. you can always run virtual desktop or bootcamp, so it's not like you can't have windows.

Vostro 1400. Configure it as minimally as you need. I wish you the joy of it.
