Recomend a multiplayer PC game for my wife to try

I've been trying to get my wife to try a couple of games so we can have some head-head fun with our small in home network.

However, for various reasons, she hasn't been to eager anything that we can play against eachother.. (something about the computer being the spawn of Satan, or somethng like that).

HOWEVER, she has recently enjoyed watching me play Rise Of Nations.. and I think I could get her to try it or a game similar. I don't have much experience of the strategy genre, but I do like Rise of Nations.

However, since I only have one copy and don't want to spend another $30 in case she doesn't like it, I was hoping someone here could recomend a *DEMO* game that allows for some multi player fun? Maybe something with similar gameplay as RON?

Restrictions:

Must be able to run on *old* hardware. Her current PC is a P3-500, 192MB RAM and a TNT2M64 video card (32MB vid ram, though). Preferbly mouse/keyboard control - no joystick. Also, Win 98SE for an OS.

She likes puzzle games, or games that make you think.. She *LOVES* Minesweeper.... and as mentioned, likes watching me play R.O.N. I downloaded the Thrones And Patriots demo (barely meets min requirements), but it doesn't allow for multiplayer. 🙁

Doesn't like gore or "scary" stuff.

First person games of almost any sort (shooter, race games for sure) are out. She gets kinda "motion sick" fairly easy.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Age of Empires 2 should run fine and may suit your needs. You can try Diablo 2, but that may not go over well 🙂

Age of Empires 2? Downloading the demo now, Thanks.

Any games in particular for the Yahoo ones to try?

my game

planetside

cost $12.99 a month
or like $36 for 3 months 😉

its worth it though even though i cant play it every month.. i bs broke

Doom3 😛

Seriously, if it's just to try and see...why not get the no-cd for your legit copy?

We play that a lot, thanks.

I downloaded AOE2 and installed it on her PC and she tried the tutorials. Seems she likes watching "me" play more than play herself.. but she said she'd give it a shot.
