I know these threads get old but at least I'm asking for a specific purpose and not just "what is best distro?"
At our church we got an AMD 2000+ machine with about 1GB of ram (it's DDR1 ram, so very hard and expensive to get, if it was DDR2 I'd upgrade it) and audigy sound card. We basically use it to record sermons and store them, as well as burn to CD. It's also used for powerpoint but as I understand open office will open power point files.
Right now it has windows 2000 but the C drive is only like 4GB so I'm planing to reinstall windows and resize it, then realized, maybe I can even go Linux.
So what would be a decent distro for this?
Upgrading is an option, but I'm trying to avoid it.
