The Software interface for the rio600 sucks a lot. Dont even think about finding a song you want with the way it's set up.

you can also use(eck) media player 7... i use hte media player 6 exe for all my mpgs, avi's, etc, but then I run mp7 to get songs onto my rio 600.

WMP7 sounds a good idea to transfer MP3's onto your Rio, I think another alternative is the new Creative Nomad II, it looks good to me, and has an FM radio.

I do not think that the new Sony Stick something isn't very good as I remember somthing about being only able to copy non-copyrighted only three times

My recommendation? Buy a Minidisc player/recorder. The Sharp MD-722 is $180, before any coupons. It may be a bit bulkier than other MD-Rs, but it does cost much less. And it has the convenient slot-load, a jog-dial for easy naming, and a LiIon battery that lasts for 10hrs. And you're getting something eminiently more portable than a MP3 player, as you can take it with you and record anything, and extra MDs are cheaper than extra RAM. Just my US$0.02.
