Reciever + Speaker Setup

Hi all,

I plan on hooking up xbox/ps3/wii/computer sound to one set of speakers. I don't know much about sound peripherals, but I'm guessing that I will need a receiver that has some optical audio (for the xbox) and some analog inputs as well as input coming from my sound card. Can anyone recommend me something? I'm not looking for anything too fancy or surround, but I'd like the speakers to be relatively small but produce quality sound and a receiver that has the inputs I'm looking for (and maybe even a way to combine two inputs i.e. computer sound + xbox sound if that is possible?)

Thanks,
Saicho

What price point were you considering? The Logitech Z-5500 is technically a receiver+speaker combo and its probably your cheapest option if that is what you were looking for.

I use a z5500 system for my PS3/360/HD-DVD/computer in my bedroom. Works nicely. I bought a $6 3-way manual optical switch from monoprice and have the PS3/360/HD-DVD hooked up through that. I have my HD cable box hooked up via digital coax... and my PC is hooked up 6 channel direct... system works well...
