It came as a barecard (as I expected), used a spare DVI-VGA connector and had it up and running fine on a beautifull Viewsonic G90FB. Downloaded all the latest drivers and such (cats 3.7/mmc/etc). After running installation of the TV software I noticed that I needed a s-video to sound-out cable which is suppose to connect to my sound card so I can get sound from my Tv Tuner. So I went to ATI's website and was about to order this cable:

http://buy.ati.com/shopati/product.asp?category=AA&part%5Fno=CABLE+6800+US&find%5Fcategory=AA&find%5Fdescription=Accessories&find%5Fpart%5Fdesc=&country=USA

This is the correct cable right? Can someone confirm this? (I checked the newegg pictures of all the cables the AIW9800 comes with, and this seems to be the one)

BTW I payed $288 for the card and absolutely love it, plays RTCW, Wolf:ET, Unreal2k3, Warcraft III, Desertcombat.39 all smooth as silk at 1600x1200 with a little AA/FSAA on. Does the card still cary the manufacturers warranty? (and how long is the warranty)

It's basically a 1\8" (or whatever they use for headphones\speakers) male to male cable. <--- used on TV Wonder

NM: didn't click the link before I posted, but that looks like the right cable.

The AIW doesn't have 1\8" sound out, it only has two SVIDEO ports, I also have an old Happauge WinTV which uses the 1\8" cable you're talking about. I guess this must be an ATI AIW thing.

Male to male eh? For that kinda cable, I recommend looking here.

I'm not sure they ship to straight though.

Plain and simple, Nebor you're a sick moron (I'm just as much of a moron for clicking the link). Wonder how you knew about that site...

You can also hook it up Internally. Also, the AIW 9800 pro supports component output, so if you plan on getting or have a display that supports YPrPb input, I'd swing for " ALL-IN-WONDER 9700/9800 HDTV CABLE" when they come back in-stock rather than the s-video one you have linked (both cables ship with the card), and use the internal connector in the mean-time.

Wow! I never realized that ATI retained Jeff K to do all of their technical schematics.

The cable you linked to is for the a/v out. It is meant to allow you to record stuff from the PC. If you are looking to hook the tv to your pc you can either do it by running standard coax cable or If you do Not have a coax output from your tv tuner you can hook it up with this. It has S-video in along with rca's in and connects to the a/v in (the purple input) on the card.

Edit: Working link.

Here is a pic of the inputs at the bottom right of the page.
Oh and connect the vid card to your sound card or sound input on your mb with a 4 to 4 connector internally as rbV5 suggested.
