Aren't you supposed to charge them up fully, then use them up completely the first time? I just got my new battery charged, and I want to make sure I don't mess it up or shorten its life.

NiMH

I just ask because *every* review on Amazon.com for the Kodak NiMH rechargable battery pack (for the DX cameras) is bad, but Kodak wouldn't just sit there and not fix it. Plus, I had one for quite a while.

The people said it doesn't hold a charge, but mine never had any problem.

Huh? Mine works fine, provides pictures on par with most I see posted around, except for things like Lirion's, it works flawlessly in Linux, and it was cheap.

I don't really see the bad side. sure, it can't have complex lenses or shutter speed changes, but it's a consumer level camera. For what it is, it's pretty nice.

doesn't matter with nihm. convenience over the tiny difference in lifespan if you fret over it.

and tis true, kodak is currently at the bottom of the barrel for digcams.
