rechargable batteries?

Where do buy them? I have a pile of AA and AAA Energizer batteries with a small recahrger so I was looking for something compatible with that.

Any good sites/deals out there?

well I was hoping to use the same charger that I had, just to pick up batteries to use in it (I assume that possible). But I was thinking maybe there are better batteries/deals than the "fancy named" Energizers out there?

These energizer ae only 900mah... and I see ones on Amazon that are 1000mah (AAA). I assume those would charge just as fine in the charger?

In theory any 1.2VPC charger should work. The smarter chargers will ensure proper cycling and extend cell life, etc.

This. I haven't come across a better charger for price than the LaCrosse (which does everything!), and enloops are one of the best rechargeable batteries out there. Both are very affordable on Amazon. You can get a LaCrosse charger with travel pack and 4 AA and AAA batteries on Amazon.

I get them from ebay, they are blue/silver 2500mah and so far they've treated me VERY well vs. the "major brands" i've purchased otherwise. They are easy to find if you search for 2500mah nimh.

mah rating has not much to do with the charger, its simply capacity, and charge time should be related to the capacity after all. the cheapest chargers are stupid dumb timer based nonsense though.

you can guess what goes wrong with such charging.

i use a duracell 15 minute jobbie, i value convenience over babying batteries. we're talking fractions of a cent per use regardless of how theoretically short the total lifespan of the battery is.

I got a buttload of Tenergy's from Amazon, with charger. They work great. If possible, get a charger that will do any number of batteries at once, not just an even number.

Nothing beats the LaCrosse series chargers, IMO.

Also, Rayovac 4.0 AA batteries - (Low Self Discharge NiMH) seem to be popular with decent reviews.

I picked up an 8-pack of AA, 2x 3-pack of C, and a 4-pack of AAA .. total cost.. $4
The batteries last long enough, and i'm not powering a plutonium accellerator matrix with 'em .. just some remote controls and kids toys.

The last time i bought batteries for my Remote Control was about 9 months... 9 months for 2xAA isn't bad.

Check the fit on batteries that have really high amp ratings. I bought some 2300mah AA batteries and when I went to remove them from the remote I almost had to take the remote apart to get them out. They sometimes cheat on the size spec a bit to get more amps.

I dunno about you, but I have a ton of things that require batteries, and having rechargeable batteries all the time trumps going out buying batteries.

My rechargeable batteries have paid for themselves a looooong time ago.
