Anyone else?

A co-worker of mine was looking for a new phone on Verizon and ended up ordering an Incredible which just arrived a few days ago (I think it was a month or so backorder). She was upgrading from an old Samsung non-smartphone.

She mentioned that as much as she loves the phone, she's getting considerably worse reception than her old phone, enough that she drops 1-2 calls a day and gets spotty reception in areas that used to be fairly solid.

Anyone know if this is a known issue with the phone? I told her to contact Verizon and get it swapped out, but I didn't know if another would fix the problem.

The phone is like the N1. It's small and lacks enough area inside for a good antenna. Not only that there are attenuation issues similar to the iPhone 4... just not as bad.

I have seen many people complain about this online about the Incredible, although I followed this a lot more when people were crying about the N1. I have done my own tests of the ATT N1 versus my Motorola Milestone (GSM Droid), and it's clear the Milestone wins by at least 10dB. So yeah, Droid users should have better reception than Incredible users.....
