Due to advice I received in this thread I opted for a little upgrading .. and now Doom 3 run nearly seemless with AA at 2x in 1024x768.. the only flaw I notice is that there's some video lag while opening certain doors .. ie the video freezes for a second while I should be seeing the door opening and then it unfreezes and the door is already open.. it's odd, but may be rectified after a bit of tweaking. I'm looking to upgrade my RAM/CPU in a month or two, currently have 1 gig of PC2700 and a P4 2.8 533 .. say I drop in a 3.2 Prescott, or even just a nice C or something .. will I gain even more improvement in gameplay for games such as D3 ... I mean obviously a better processor = better quality but will the difference be marginal, or drastic? I heard D3 is almost as much CPU intensive as it is GPU intensive. Any comments?

I would think the C version would help paired with some 400mhz memory. Overclock that B. My Board/CPU overclock combined with my Video Card gives me usually at least 20% increase in many benchmarks. Of course it should help, its just do you want to spend the money on it. I would say just clock it higher, but if you have the extra cash sell the old parts and buy some new ones.
