Ok I recently purchased off newegg the following...

2800+ A64 (1.84GHz)
1 GB Mushkin value 3200DDR 2.5-4-4
Abit K8T800 "KV8 PRO" Mobo
Zalman HSF.. I call it a beast!!!! this is it! zalman BEAST

I already had the rest of my system...

Thermaltake XASERIII 7fans
ANTEC 450watt Smartpower
120Gb Seagate 8mb cache 7,200rpm
9800XT native speeds 412core/365mem
Audigy2 ZS

I just want a to get some sort of estimate or consensus on how much I can safely overclock my proc. and video card, along with what CAS timings you guys reccomend with the RAM.

My temps are:

CPU- 45c idle around 52c load
SYS- 32c
Video card-69c

Room temperatures however get as low as 72F, (rarely) most of the time is 79F and 82F (at night only)

I dont understand why my video card has always been that hot ever since I got it... most of the time its around 73c, is that normal? and is it safe to overclock, if so how much? Need reccomendations on all of the above, how much to overclock on cpu,video card and what my timings should be.

If I were to overclock my video card, what program should I use, is powerstrip ok?

I'd say not much room for overclocking, those temps are already pretty high.

My P4 3.2 only runs at 30 - 40 degrees and my gfx card at 40 - 55c.

touch the HSF. is it hot? if not, the temps are wrong

my Asus K8V reports my CPU IDLE temp from 52-55C. i still overclock because the heatsink isnt even hot. thus, the temp readings are wrong
