Well, i just traded in my old liteon CD RW for a brand new DVD rw, and i cannot seem to get the drive to be recognized....

I go into my computer and nothing shows up...

I have another DVD drive that was a slave drive to my old liteon, and it will not work as a slave drive to this new driver, so i figure something must have happened here.

This is the drive... that i bought a week or so ago.

It is set as a master drive, and the other dvd drive is a slave...neither work, neither show up in my computer, or when i insert a disk....

I'm wondering if there is a device driver for this drive that i have not found... I went to the NEC website and typed in the product number and nothing came up so.....

Help!? lol, any words of wisdom would be much appreciated, thank you!
 
Anybody have any ideas...maybe the drive is defective or something? I literally just pulled out the old liteon and plugged the new one in, i figure there shouldnt' be a lot more to it than that?
 
yeah, it detects the one drive, but it has some really weird name, like i've never seen a drive name look like that, it just looked like a bunch of nonsensical numbers, maybe something is up with the drive itself...i guess i can try making it a slave and seeing what happens....
