Is it me or am I seeing popups and some spam after these latest patches from MS. I was fine before. Seems a little peculiar. Not doing anything different than before.

Anyone?
 
If you're inferring that the patches you obtained for your Windows XP install from WindowsUpdate.com are now leading to popups and spam, you are quite wrong. Its more likely that a piece of spyware/adware has been snuck into you system recently.

Get spybot, run it, get adware, run it. Switch to Firefox or Opera. Runa firewall, and get a good, up-to-date antivirus program.

Microsoft is non sending you popups/spam.
 
All these areas have been met except I'm using IE. I just ran hijack.exe and found nothing. I keep things pretty lean and mean. I realize it sounds odd to question the patches but I find it interesting timing. I've run Spybot and Lavasoft Adware SE Pro and the problem still persists.
