I did a search for this issue and couldn't find an answer so here goes my question. I just put in a fresh XP SP2 install and all is going well until I get the popup bubble that syas I have some critical updates. So I accept them and restart my computer. Now, when I get to the user select screen it prompts me for a password. I never had a password to begin with! Ughhh. So I boot up in safe mode and try to log in as an admin and it tells me:
"The system cannot log you on due to the following error:
THe program issued a command but the command length is incorrect.
Please try again or consult your system administrator."

I did a fresh install, got the updates and BAM it happened again.l I know it has to do with these updates. Before I do another install is there anything that I may possibly try or do to get around this problem? ANy advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just a little update for anyone who is experiencing this problem. I did a little research and it seems like I am not the only one with this problem.

Here is a little blurb saying it has something to do with a recent update KB885835. Don't know if anything has been done to correct this problem but misery loves company I guess... hehe
