i have been searching for the best options for an i7 920 system oc'ed to 4ghz or so.

is there an asus board with same pricetag as GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD5 that is better?

which ram should go with it to reach 4ghz?

is there something better then scythe mugen 2 or Thermalright IFX-14?

thanks for any help :)

is there anything that speaks against going for the 930? it seems that even multiplier numbers tend to oc not very well, but aside from that?

Giggy makes great boards.
The thing about giggy tho is, if it works out of the box, you got a winner.
If it doesnt, your screwed until your RMA will work out of the box.

4 ghz on a i7 920 is not that hard to do also.
You can pull 4ghz off with DDR3-1333 mhz ram, however to be safe and also there is almost 0 price difference, look for DDR3-1600mhz ram. Make sure the voltage is no higher then 1.65

Yes mid tier water is greater then top tier air by a big margin.
However its about 4-5x more expensive.
