Graduating soon, so I thought it would be interesting to see what other people have been making lately. Got my first offer a few weeks ago, which feels pretty darn good in this economic climate.

Mostly interested in undergraduates, but advanced degrees would be fun to see as well.

Post your major too, if you wish!

Post your major and location, then! Mine is Nuclear Engineering, in Detroit of all places ($60k-$70k). Hopefully, I might be able to negotiate into the next tier, though. Haven't accepted yet.

Location is key, but I only completed my 2 year AS and got a 45k job ... granted, experience is key in IT. Not to mention, my side business is taking off hugely, so i'll be able to be my own, true, boss here within the coming years.

In this economy (yes its still not that great), unless you have a previous internship turn in to a job after you graduate, I don't think you'll be making $60k-70k a year. I'd like to see myself proven wrong though.

<-Mech Eng ~$40k

Meh, it's not so bad. Grew up in the area, so I'm rather attached to the sports teams anyways.

Being able to walk to an afternoon Tigers game is worth a few grand to me :)

I voted 80+ because I make more than that and I'm still working on my degree.

$63K+ when I finish school. Degree in GIS and taking over S2 position with MO Guard. That'll be in two years... looking forward to some financial stability.

very similar here, 32k and exactly 50% in 2nd job after 4 months. Then another 2-3 years to hit 6 figs...

Doing IT in the Midwest for the govt, I was told before I quit looking for another job 2 months ago that I was supposed to be making 46k turns out I'm making 30k... I'm not too happy about it but it's much better than nothing and there aren't many other opportunities around here at the time. I figure I'll get some certs and a decent reference out of it at.

I believe I was doing about 35k (3 years ago or so) working for same company and I'm at 45k now. I moved up, but I'd be making the same now if I was still at my original position. Started at help desk, now I'm a server tech. No raise for moving over, but I do get a raise every 6 months until I hit the cap.

I'm kind of surprised, I thought the average would be a bit higher. Especially since there's a higher percentage of people on this forum that have a science/technology/engineering type background.

Second degree was CS 11 years ago, and my first job was slightly less than 30K. I'm in Vancouver Island, BC. The same degree would fetch 35K-40K in Vancouver at that time and the Toronto/Ottawa would be around 40K-45K.

I'm now working in construction for 70K a year on Vancouver Island (slightly more than my old IT job), and about 20-25% less hours @ 90% less stress.
