My experience:

Both orders about 2am-sih on 10/23 for $125/drive.

Two ordered from my primary account, still "in production."

Six ordered from a scondary account now missing with no record whatsoever of my orders ever existing. *Sigh*
 
I ordered mine early hours of the 20th and the drive was shiped today.
Maybe they canceled only the orderes where the 20% off cupon was used? (I ordered before that)

I'd hardly call aspirations of building a raid "greedy."

i ordered 2 on 19th.. and dell shipped both on 22nd.. i think i'll be getting those soon since i ordered 2 WD 80GB before and they arrived in 2 days..
 
The last clueless poster that challenged my personal technology projects went whimpering away with his tail between his legs upon realizing his wayward assumptions.

My One 120GB drive says due to ship april 29th, I think they noticed the surge of orders after the $125 post
mine was $132 (they added tax)
 
My order hasn't disappeared, but has been "In-production" since Saturday (4/20) -- MIA???. I ordered 3 on Friday, 10-ish, and am now a bit worried, as most people who ordered Friday and Satuday have had theirs' ship already. Anyone else order on Friday and still have their order "In-Production?"

Dell is really screwed up. I guess I can't complain too much though, as I was lucky enough to get that 8200 / 17" LCD at the erroneous price (thanks rk0).

 
my order has also "disappeared", but yet they continue to send me emails saying when it will be shipped, etc.. so i dont know what's going on, and when i called, they said everything was ok, so who knows
 
My 2 orders disappeared off my customer screen, too. But when I put in my customer number & zip code and had it search for missing orders it found both. Supposedly they both shipped yesterday.

Maybe you'll still get your "missing" or "cancelled" orders? I would hope Dell is not foolish enough to kick a sleeping giant again with the cancelled Dell systems fiasco still going on. That has reached the highest levels of the company.
 
why not? my compaq proliants at work run 8 drives for raid. granted, they aren't scsi, but maybe he's just an enthusiast....
 
I ordered one on Sunday and I didn't get a confirmation email that I placed the order until last day! I emailed them to cancel my Sunday order and placed a new one for the 20% price and I got another email today saying to call them, because they need more information to complete my order. Once I called them, they were saying they were curious about the "multiple" orders I palced and I was able to clear matters up. From talking to the CSR, he said that most likely my order will ship within 24 hours... So we'll see...
 
I've had that stuck in "in transit to local carrier" problem couple of times before -- once for 6 days, then once it appeared it was to be delivered that day. The items always arrived, so no worry.
 
I wouldn't complain if you only get 2. If you think purchasing 8 drives is normal, why'd you use a 2nd account? Not to say it's unreasonable to do so, but we all know that Dell is somewhat shady on the really hot deals, much more for those that purchase larger quantities. I'll be happy if I get the 1 drive I ordered at $141...still an excellent price.
 
I readily admit I'm a technological freak of nature. It just seemed an interesting task to make an enormous ide raid.

If you want to drill down on my orders, let's take it to PM or something and convene an AT tribunal. You bring the facepaint, I'll bring the beer.

The second account is the girlfriend's account, already populated with her credit card details. I'm doing a little acquisition and procurement fiscal balancing act, if you must know.

 
My order for two @ ~$140 apiece is showing in transit, which according to their legend means it's left their hands.

That is a good sign.
