Recent CCNA passers

I have studied for the CCNA numerous occasions in the past but have always brushed it off, even after reading Sybex's study guide by Todd. I recently acquired the 7th edition and took the preliminary test and passed with flying colors. So now I'm motivated and ready to finally finish this life long goal and eventually move onto the CCNP to a much higher paying career. I've been at the same job 5.5 years and looking to increase my salary.

As with always with the CCNA, it is ever evolving. Does anyone have any experiences recently taking the exam, and if so, has anything changed since around this time last year?

Any new material?

Sticking points for me in the past were WAN technologies such as Frame Relay, NAT, and ACLs. Everything else was cake.

Any opinions appreciated. 🙂

JLazarro: The CCNA has changed A LOT over the last few years. I'd put it on par with the previous generation CCNP exams. The sims are every bit the PITA as the NP exams (adjusted to the skill level).

The question pool is periodically updated, but there's been no majorly new technologies added. The 640-802 objectives list remains unchanged from approximately 4-5 years ago.

I write IT certification practice exams for a living, so when exams change, I tend to hear about it. 😉
