Wrong. Happened to my friend at Fry's. He got some gold-plated PC4000 RAM and they contacted him and made him return it. I dunno what would've happened if he didn't but I sure as fvck know I wouldn't return $250 RAM if I only paid $50 for it. 😀

I see this quoted ALL THE TIME when it does not apply.

The law says that you do not have to return or pay for items that someone sends you unsolicited. For example, a company you've never had contact with sends you a set of encyclopedias and says you can either pay for them or return them. In that case you can keep the stuff and tell them to take a hike.

It does NOT apply to errors such as this case, when you've ordered something from a company and an error was made in the delivery.

The person solicited one thing but not the other and received both. I'd say the second UNSOLICTED item is his to keep.

But in fact, the law says otherwise.
Proof needed. This sounds like a state by state law.
 
seems like they have the right to simply charge you for both.. as long as they send a shipping label or box for return so they can say it wasn't a burden for you to send it back.
 
I say keep them.... once a couple years ago, I ordered a nice MS keyboard among other things, and instead of sending me just the one i ordered, they sent me a whole case of them, never heard anything from them about it, so I peddled the 4 extra $40 keyboards I had to some people i know for $20 each and went about my life.
