I sold something on ebay and received a money order from Western Union. I'm going to put it in the bank but I'm worried if it is authentic. Could I go to a Western Union station and cash it instead? I don't want to see my bank account down money because of him retracting or some crap like that.

I haven't had the pleasure but what I've read is that they look legit, the money goes in your account, you ship the item, then the bank realizes that it is fake and takes the money back. If you're exceptionally lucky, they then get you arrested for tendering counterfeit/fraudulent payment.

Good luck.

Get it cashed at any place that sells Western Union money orders. They should have an 800 number that they will call to verify the money order before they cash it for you, so once you have that cash in hand, you are good.

I recieved a Western Union money order a while back on a transaction. (I asked for a Postal MO, he didn't know the difference...duh.) I went to three different places that sell Western Union money orders and NONE would cash it!
"We just sell them, we don't cash them."
WTF?!?
