During movie playback, sometimes my receiver will just turn off. The interesting thing is that if it does occur, it always occurs at the same scene in the movie. Any ideas?

Have you tried any troubleshooting so far?

What receiver is this? Have you check all your speaker wiring for shorts?

Sounds like overload/overcurrent or temp protection is kicking in. If you skip directly to that scene, without warming up the receiver by listening to the preceding part of the film, does it still do it?

Yes, I've let it sit overnight in a cold room and started it up in the morning, skipped to the same scene, and it shuts down.

Is the scene in question one that's loud and has a lot of explosions? May be causing a short if your speakers aren't wired correctly.

This last time it occurred it didn't seem to be, but other times yes. I'll check all the speakers.
