it was for a domain, an intangible item. i just spoke to someone at paypal who told me to forward it their spam email address and ignore it.

anyone ever come across a situation like this...

Probably the person who gave you the refund trying to scam their cash back.

I got a similar email. I contacted PayPal about it, and they told me that it was a scam.
