Received the wrong item on an ebay auction

I won an auction on ebay from a PowerSeller(company that specializes in ebay auction sales). The auction was for an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro video card. I won the auction for $32, with a $24.95 shipping cost, so $56.95 total cost. Not too bad for a nice video card like this. Anyways on their webpage it said they were sending me a Radeon 9800 Pro, an even better card. I received the package today and instead of a computer video card, I received a Sprint PalmOne Treo PDA Wireless Phone. This thing does it all. It's a Wireless PDA, Phone, can take pictures. I think it's a 600 series, which sells on ebay auctions for around $200.

Anyways I was disappointed not to get the video card, but this is something 3-4 times more expensive. Being the nice guy I am, I emailed the company today and offered them a chance to exchange it if they pay for me to ship it back to them. They charged me $24.95 in shipping, so I am going to be charging them $24.95 to ship it back to them in exchange for the video card. Otherwise I told them if they wanted to we could call it even and I will give them positive feedback.

Here's the company's feedback page on ebay: Text
The item I was suppose to receive(Radeon 9700 Pro): Text

lol, hence why I'm offering to ship it back for what he charged me($24.95). It will probably only cost $6 to ship back.

Just from the first page of their feedback I saw 2 or 3 "Wrong Item Sent" complaints. Seems to be a problem for them. I'd say wait for their response, likely they'll want you to ship it back, and yeah, you should definitely NOT have to pay for it to ship back, make sure you let them know you'll ship it with confirmation and insurance, since you do not want to be liable for it being lost, and include that cost in the refund you want. If they refuse to pay for the shipping back, simply keep it and resell it. You tried to fix it, no reason you have to put up with someone that can't keep track of their auctions.

Should've kept the Treo. I hate sellers who earn money off shipping.

if they never reply back, put it back on ebay, get the money, buy the item again from the person.

Wow! 53 negatives this last month! Averages about 59 negatives a month. Then there are a ton of other neutrals where the shipped the wrong item, ect. I say screw him. Sell the Trio on eBay yourself and use the funds to get an X850

It's a hell of a device. And I won't ship it until they paypal me $24.95. I'm hoping with what I saw in some of their feedback that they don't reply to my email. I will give them a couple days. If no reply, then it's going on ebay. I might buy the docking station for it if I sell it. They aren'y too expensive. The device works great, but does need to be charged.

lol, I already have an X800 Pro. I just bought this 9700 Pro for 1 of my other computers. Also I have a friend who wants a descent card to play Counter-Strike Source, and for $57 you can't go wrong.

They shipped it to me inside a single piece of bubble wrapped sheet(3x8"), inside a 8x8x6 cardboard box with styrofoam peanuts. They used UPS Ground, it says 2lbs on the box. It couldn't have cost any more than $4 for the shipping method since they ship it out from their company, not the UPS Store. It wasn't insured or anything extra. I'm sure there wasn't $21 that went into the packing supplies or handling.

Yes, I hit the power button at the top and it turned on. There was a message for a low battery though. The red light at the top of the PDA continues to flash like every 5 seconds or so. No scratches, no dead pixels. Looks great. I would need a docking station to charge it up fully to check out how well it works.

Don't take advantage of someone else's mistake. Make every *reasonable* effort to get the Treo back to it's *rightful* owner. If that's not possible, then it's yours to do with as you will.

I think that eBay sellers with a huge number of feedbacks are even worse than those with <50. Guys that sell a million things a day are notorious for horrible customer service...what do they care if your package comes a week late, your -1 feedback means nothing to them.

still no word from this company, so I may be forced to have to sell this pda for a profit on ebay.

I'll second this. You ship it back and that may be the last you hear from him.

You are in the drivers seat at this moment as long as you retain the PDA.

They need to send you the proper card (with no extra S/H charges) and coer the return costs from you w/ S/H just like their costs.

Once you get the card, then send back the PDA.

Do not send the PDA back first, unless the credit your account with the original costs + your S/H costs to return it.
