I'm at home with my wife just relaxing on the couch. The phone rings the first time and the caller ID says 000-000-0000 so I just ignore it. Then about 10 minutes later again it rings with the same number on the caller ID so I get up and answer it.

It's an Indian guy on the other end who is going on about Windows (he even rattles off the versions XP and Vista to try and jog my brain as if I didn't know what Windows was). He continues on about how Windows has issues with adware, spyware, viruses, etc and when he pauses I interrupt and say that I am familiar with Windows by trade and that I am not in need of their services.

His response was "What services?". So I say, "Well I don't know what the point of this phone call is but I'm quite familiar with Windows".

He repeats his spiel and after a few moments I interrupt again and say "I am familiar with Windows". He says "Okay thank you" and hangs up.

WTF o_O

This Indian guy keeps calling and asking if I want my ducks cleaned. I tell him I just put them in the pond out back and they clean themselves.

Maybe his ducks aren't doing the needful.

Grass roots apple marketing?

I'd be lying if I said that didn't cross my mind. It was bugging me and my Wife noticed and said it's not any different than any other marketing call except it has to do with what I'm familiar with so now you're just really curious.

Maybe. But it was weird.

I'm guessing the punchline was PC "speedup" services, or "malware" removal. He finally realized you couldn't be duped, and just ended it. Analog spam :^D

I have been getting calls from 773-000-0000 and it's a recording about lowering your credit card interest rate. doesn't give a company name or what card they are talking about.

I finally hit 9 to speak to a rep and I politely but sternly ask to be removed from their calling list. He says "but don't you want to save money?"
I again say no, just remove me from the list and he starts going "uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh"
I'm like wtf is this guy doing?
and then he says "Sir, someone is having sex."

This time I say "remove me from the fucking list" and he says "i am fucking your wife."

I hung up at that point.

I missed a call a while ago from a number I didn't recognize. Since I'm trying to switch jobs right now I figured it could be a place I applied at and gave them a call. I got connected to a recording that said something like "Congratulations! By calling this number you've been signed up for our daily prize! Each day we'll call you with a great exclusive offer and if you pick up we'll enter you to win a prize for that day!" I had to wait through 5 minutes of automated crap and go through multiple menus asking if I was sure before I could opt out of the stupid thing. Automatically signing you up for that crap just because you returned a call should be illegal.

It probably is and I believe automated calls like that are illegal.

The computer guy was going to talk you into going to his web site, but you did not fall for his pitch. His website loads crap on your computer.

I kept getting calls from a local house-maid service. The young Hispanic lady sounded nice but kept calling at the wrong hour so the last time I asked her if the service comes with a happy ending (I just blurted out, didnt know what came over me). Haven't heard from that company for a couple of weeks now.
