Basically I Want a flat panel that runs at 1024x768 (not bigger - I don't want to have to buy video cards to drive games at 1280x1024 all the time) and doesn't have ghosting problems. DVI would also be nice.

How fast of a response time am I looking for? Is 25ms fast enough?

The few 15" models that have a DVI connection are about as expensive as 17" models, so I would go that route. In my experience, 1024x768 scales decently onto the 17" screen, so there's no problem there.

25ms isn't enough. I have a 16ms screen that is barely acceptable in my opinion. Get a sub-16ms screen, and why not go for a 17" D-sub? For example, I just ordered a Samsung 710-N for under $250 shipped ($226 shipped AR). I'll let you know what I think of that. Also, my D-sub screens don't seem any less clear than the DVI screens I've seen. DVI is nice, but I'd much rather spend more money on a lower response time than a newer connection technology.
