Hi guys, I am looking for news servers that allow for unlimited downloads. I found this, 100proofnews

Anyone have experience with them? Any others to add to the list?

Thanks

I like newsreader.com. They dont have a published unlimited plan, but for 9.95/month, you can download 50 gigs. 100 gigs a month for $20.00 seems pretty reasonable to me.

The 9.95 plan automatically renews when 50 gigs or a month is reached, whatever is faster. I cannot tell you the upper limit on their speed because i am on 1.5 mb dsl and I get 140K download speeds all the time. The administrator usually responds to emails within 1 hour also.

how is their RETENTION and completion (newsreader).

I mean if you've seen easynews, nobody seems to match them... but easynews is 9.99 or so for 6gigs only.

Hrmm... that would be okay, but I am sure I will exceed 50gb a month.... maybe even more than 100gb a month. I will try usenetserver.com next month. 100proofnews.com is okay... it wasn't as fast as I hoped. But the service was extremely fast to reply to an email.

I used to have RoadRunner, and I think they offered unlimted downloads at your max speed, but RoadRunner was too expensive and I moved to WideOpenWest. They only allow 5gb/month per account.

Also, if anyone has a website link reviewing newsgroups, I wouldn't mind looking at that.

Thanks for the help guys:)

reading newsreader.com's website and seems like retention for text groups goes 28 days and binary goes 10 days. easynews goes back about 25 days, which is really helpful for those peeps that may DL heavily for a few days and then step aside for a week or even to.

with 10days retention on binaries, if you're looking to DL something specific you have to watch your groups every other day... but 50gig DL limit is sure enticing.

easynews has been a paltry 6gig.

my mistake, retention on binaries is not 10 days, it's 2 days. 10 days is for 'binaries.pictures' his website says.

why wouldnt you use your ISPs news servers?
or do not all ISPs include it for free?

why wouldnt you use your ISPs news servers?
Most ISPs news servers don't carry all the binaries groups and their retention is low.

A bit off topic, what's a good newsgroup reader program?
For actual reading Free Agent is good. For binaries Newsbin Pro.
