Reccomendations for a wirless access point?

I need a wireless access point for our small office. DHCP and firewall is provided by our router, so I don't need to worry about those, I really just need a reliable wirless access point.

Thoughts?

How can these wireless access points be this ridiculously expensive? There arn't any cheaper options that aren't total junk? All I need is to broadcast the freakin' wireless signal with encryption, no other frills.

you will never find a SOHO device that is as reliable as the above mentioned products...you gotta pay for play.

if you're looking for a cheap working solution, WRT54GL w/ DD-WRT or Tomato will be your best bet.

Yes, I was about to recommend a WRT54GL with DDWRT. You can disable the onboard DHCP server and other stuffers, and plug in an ethernet cable to one of the four LAN ports. That turns it into a wireless access point... that can do fancy stuff such as WDS, too! All for ~$60 shipped. 🙂

It gets harder and harder to help because most of the questions are asked in a sloppy manner Not providing serious info concerning the projects.

An n00b many times does Not how to ask and how to provide info, but it is quite discouraging when the project involves professional work.

Many of the questions actually lead to one short answer, Go get a Consultant.

Alright, I'll probably just go for a WRT and see how it goes. I guess I could have been a bit more specific... thanks anyways.
