I've gotta get rid of my $60 a month Bellsouth DSL, too expensive. I was thinking about switching to Cox@home or maybe some other DSL supplier (maybe direct TV?). Anyone got any reccomendations? services i should stay away from? cost estimates? thanks

Don't get satellite internet... You'll hate it...

I have a hard enough time going into radioshack and not laughing at the msn internet on display...

-me "so does it always go this slow"
-them "slow? How is this slow?"
-me "I only have 256kb internet connection and it's a lot faster than this"
-them " sir, I believe you're mistaken, this is up to 5 times faster than dial up"

lol, aside from the sh!tty pings, the speed sucks on satellite internet.

DirectTV DSL advertises up to 50x faster than dialup, i dont think anything is satelite related other than the name. They bought Telocity dsl or something so thats how the provide it.

I have DirecPC since I can't get cable or DSL. Yea, the ping times do suck But, browsing is much faster than dial-up and I can usually download at about 90-100k which beats the crap out of dialup
