Reccomend me a new Mobo for my P4.

OverVolt

Lifer
I think ive narrowed down the problems in my system to the Asus P4C800, random reboots, slow SATA RAID controller, memory errors, random reboots, random power-on (this is weird) and the list goes on.

Just wondering what the cheapest but sufficient new mobo would be. It would have to have:

- SATA RAID intergrated into the SB
- Good overclocking
- Gigabit Et'net
- IEEE 1394 Firewire
- A good 6+ USB or so
- Has to be Reliable!!!

I was thinking about an Abit board, maybe a Giga-Byte board, but i DO NOT want another Asus mobo. If you are running a I865/I875 mobo and really like it let me know what it is and i'll take a look at it. Thanks!

Cheapest with all those features? No clue.

I have an Abit IC7-G Max2 which I like, Max3 would be nice.
I was of the opinion though, from reading a lot of posts here, that the Asus boards were the most reliable...

The Asus is great for stock speed, I've had one since December for my 3.2C, and my brother has had 2 since earlier last year (desktop and a studio recording box). All 3 are 100% stable and problem-free.

For overclocking, the Abit i865 boards have been popular since their introduction so if you might be happy with one.

Abit IC7 series (I have a little bit of a bias towards Abit though 😉) The IC7-G or MAX3 are both good choices and both have everything you need, AFAIK. Only main difference between the MAX and -G is the OTES, higher VDIMM options, Secure IDE, and a few other misc. things. Depends where you wanna spend your money 😉
