Reccomend Me A DVD Burner

I'm looking for a top notch DVD Burner, so far I'm looking at the BenQ 1655.

I have a DW1640 and it's fantastic... I like everything about it so far.

I would assume the 1655 is as good as the 1640 is...

Other good picks are mentioned above... Maybe a Pioneer burner should be considered too, but that'd be about as far as I'd go... Stick with 1 of those 4 brands.

NEC 3540/3550, or the BenQ. Whichever one is cheaper. Both are excellent.

After research I was sold on a benq1640. Of course they are all sold out. The new 1655 looks good but it costs more because it has lightscribe. That would be ok but it is based on a different family chip. the 1640 came from the 1620 that was also excellent. I currently have a nec 2500 and a lite on 811. I'm pretty disappointed with both. I think they are having probs with newer media. 16x is freaking them out. the sony 810 is a rebadged 1640. The new NECs are pretty good but don't score as high as the benq or also the latest LG. The nec also seems to eat a bit more cpu in tests. take a look at the cdfreaks website for reviews. So far I'm leaning towards the 1655. Prelim reports show it to be very good. I guess by the time I trust something its out of production.

I recently was deciding between the DW1640 and the 3550 myself. I decided on the 3550 becasue it's cheaper and my 3520 has been great.

either get the BenG 1640 or wait for the 1650 coming out in mid feb.
