Quick, recommend a restaurant in NYC in the around $80 to $100 for two people dinner meal range. Anywhere in Manhatten. Somewhere good.

There are no good restaurants in Manhattan. Well, there's that Scottish place, um, Mac Donalds I think it is.

If you like Sushi, Haru isn't too bad (Times Sq area).

good lord. This statement is akin to... "QUICK! Someone tell me what car to buy! 10k-15k price range!"

You... have any food preferences... location?

What an absurd request. There are hundreds of restaurants in Manhattan that meet those requirements. How about narrowing it down a bit?

Are we talking $80-100 with or without booze?
Preferences for cuisine?
What part of Manhattan are you going to be in (Upper East / Upper West / Midtown / Times Square / Lower / etc.)?
What atmosphere are you going for? Casual? Romantic?

Papaya King. Greatest hot dogs in the world. For under 10 bucks you can eat like a king, and spend the rest of the money on hookers and blow. Or just blow if your with your girl.

I second Carmine's. My favorite Italian restaurant in the city.

I tried that last month. Good restaurant and looks very nice, but I thought the food was so-so for a Mexican restaurant. I kept hearing good thing about the guac and it ended up being ok.

I went there for dim sum two Saturdays ago.

Did you get the spicy one? If not, I echo that. I thought the spicy guacamole was 10x better than the mild.

If you like Steaks then this is the best in Manhattan.
Generous portions, good service and decent prices.

The Old Homestead Steakhouse
56 9th Avenue (near 10th ave)
Manhattan, NY

Tel: 212-242-9040

When I ate there, a few guys walked in, Wall Stree/yuppie types, and one loudly asked the waiter for all to hear, "WHAT'S THE BEST STEAK YOU HAVE?"

The waiter answered, the Kobe Beef steak, for $120.

The guy said, much quieter, "What's the second best?"

It was a nice steakhouse.

it's in brooklyn but.... Peter Luger.

You wont get a reservation unless you book 2 months in advance and even then it is dicey.

Carmines is horrible for two people because the portions are elephantine.

I tend to like anything from Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality group. I LOVE Shake Shack but for $100 for two, you can get that done at Gramercy Tavern or Eleven Madison Park.

Craftbar was ok when I went. We tried getting into Craft but that didnt work.

Les Halles is really noisy at dinnertime.

La Sirene in Soho. Didier is a great guy! Rustic French, very intimate, BYOB, $100 for 2 is totally doable.

We enjoyed Babbo too but you need to get there early if you want to get one of the walk-in tables. Otherwise it takes awhile to get reservations. $100 for 2 won't include wine. Love the food.

Wanted to try Momofuku but didn't get a reservation. We walked in to Milk Bar instead to try their crack pie. Pretty damn addictive.

I'm told that to eat well in NYC, you have to drive outside of town..say like Seattle.

that's what I've heard, anyway.
