I need to upgrade my old CoolerMaster - I broke it last night (dropped it)

(edit) forgot to add - for Athlon XP 1700 (will most likely OC's a wee bit not extreme tho)

What should I be spending? I am interested in a quiet cooler and it does not need to be super high end like the SLK800 etc.

thanks all!

For a mildly overclocked 1700+ the GC68 is a price/performance bargain that will do the job nicely and fairly quite@28dBA as well.

The gc68 really is a bargain, not just one of those too cheap to be any good kind of deals. They're well regarded around here and many other web forums, including Ars Technica. Their new model gc69 is probably a small improvement, haven't tried one yet. Nexfan sells the gc68 as the galaxy monster, exact same product.

If you're more interested in performance than noise reduction, check out the taisol 760092 from KDComputers, for example. Medium noise, very good cooling, very secure triple tab clip.
