Not sure just how much to rely on an article that creates sentences like this:

The governor has also went directly against CDC guidelines and allowed churches to still have large gatherings.

I spent ten minutes in a screaming match with the grammar Nazi within me. I almost forgot the most important factoid I wanted to see. The article failed to learn me how many votes were needed for action to occur. Who do I blame for that? Did that fucking grammar Nazi get me so mad I missed it?

First, the poor grammar was in a quote from the petition, not a sentence the article’s author created.

Second, you are correct that it’s a huge miss not to mention that the governor of FL cannot be recalled, nor can any other elected state or federal official. There’s only the impeachment option for removal from office.

Gosh a whole 35,000 signatures! That's almost as many people as attend a high school football game. Rah, rah, rah.

I spend my days searching for petitions to sign that have no legal effect so believe me when I say I can't myself believe the low numbers. Smart people like me should number, in a state like Florida, in the millions, so many in fact it would create a fatality if they were dropped on his head.

Go back and look at Gov Kodos's margin of victory. The executioner won by 32,000 votes. Also like delta these votes are just getting started.

Will it work? LOL It will cement his support among the faithful. Which is many. My entire extended family for example, they love him--mainly because he put in the law about protesting. How small government is that, to try to limit the voices of protesters...they and tons of othe right-wingers go on about places like Portland OR and Minneapolis like they are right out of Escape from New York, and no way our strong governor would let that happen here.

Never mind the environment imploding (as someone who fishes both coasts, I know first hand how bad the water is now) and the asinine pro-covid stance.

I'm hearing that people around the country want to move BECAUSE of Desantis and his "freedom stance". I'll trade, I'm looking to get out after 50 years of watching this place steadily get more insane.

Just curious, were those same people cool with the Jan 6 insurrection?

Thanks for the info. I didn’t notice the one and didn’t know recall wasn’t a real option.
