Rebuilding my rig

Is this board reliable for getting to at least 2.4GHZ?
For the CPU, I'm getting the E4300 and I'll try my luck with the stock heatsink, what are typical overclocks for this cpu? Thanks.

might want to go ASUS if you want to OC

Gigabyte are known to be reliable and rock solid, but they are HORRIBLE for OC

Smartass, I've got a similar rig as yours. Can we expect a large performance boost by going Core2Duo? I do not do any gaming, nor would I want to OC.

I'll be installing Vista in a day or two and will upgrade if I need to for the new OS.

interesting, cause I have asked a few times and everyone seems to say to go with the Gigabyte S3 for the E4300!!

Same here, and I hear the S3 is a pretty good OC'er.

Yeah, people were hitting 3GHZ with ease on an E6300. An E4300 has a lower FSB clock so it'll be a lot easier to overclock.
Megamorph to answer your question, unless you do video work it probobly won't be worth it and the E4300 definatly won't be worth it because it's a great overclockers chip. Get the E6300 or better if you don't plan to overclock.
