Has anyone done this yet? I was curious as to the supplemental CDs. Do they let you select what to install OR do they force you to reload the drivers AS WELL AS all the Dell junk?

Speak up! Thanks

dang... I'll probably give them a whirl and just install all the drivers from the website if it comes to it.

You should have an inspiron drivers disk that came with the laptop also. If you don't have it, give dell a call and they should be able to send a copy out with you. Once the OS is reinstalled, pop the disk in and it will autodetect your hardware and you can install the drivers that show up as uninstalled.

Edit: just reread your original post, you don't have to install the dell "stuff" if you don't want to.

I didn't create the recovery disk because I thought that was cheap of Dell... I called and they overnighted my disks. I was IMPRESSED to say the least.

Thanks for the update, glad to see that it won't have the dell bloatware. I can reformat with confidence now. Thanks all!
