So I'm going to redo my system in 2 weeks or so, want or two cents.

Going to keep my Antec case and replace the psu with a 650 watt one.

Antec Signature SG650 650W Continuous Power ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply - Retail

Motherboard is a ASUS Rampage II Extreme LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

Cpu- Intel Core i7 940 Nehalem 2.93GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor

Memory- CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory

GPU- SAPPHIRE 100251SR Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB 512-bit (256-bit x 2) GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card

What I want to know is a 650 watts going to cut it and will this psu fit in my antec sonata case that look alot like this http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=MjA=

Keeping my X-fi card, Disc drive, keyboard, mouse and 17 inch LCD monitor. Thanks :}

Not sure about some of the other components' power usage, but I would suggest upping the number on that PSU. I have a feeling that may not be enough. Go with at least 700W, it'll give ya wiggle room just in case you decide to add more components in the future. While I personally use a 550W PSU, my system is cutting it close.

Just a thought.

All that power on a 17" monitor...should pick up a decent 20-22" widescreen for >$180 w/ free shipping!! 🙂

Looks like a sweet setup though. IMO, the psu should be fine, but a 700 would give you the survivability in terms of upgrades and new components.

Are you planning on upgrading the monitor? Because you're wasting a lot of money if not.

Yeah, I know...echo...echo...echo...
