As the title says, my PC almost always reboots whenever I copy any large files(150+ MB) from my CD drives. This occurs when installing anything large as well. :(
I have:
ABIT KT-7A
Athlon 1Ghz
old IBM HD 8 Gigs
SB Live!
128 MB Ram of unknown brand
Windows XP Proffesional
HD is master on IDE 0
Sony 8x CD master on IDE 1
4x4x32 CD-RW slave on IDE 1

Pretty sure this has very little to do with the PSU because my PC is very stable aside from this problem. Also, when running Win2k I tried to use the VIA 4-in-1 drivers which also produced this very problem. Without the drivers, I could copy anything I wanted to, but the PC ran much slower.

Any ideas?

If I were you, I would try just getting rid of the 8x unless you have a specific reason for keeping it, just use the burner, it has 32x read, plus you won't have to worry about the power draw from the 8x too... try unpluggin the 8x and see where that gets you.
