rebooting problem

sometimes when i have to manually reboot my system... when my norton scan disk starts to run, my monitor shuts off and i have to manually reboot again... scan disk starts where it left off and then continues.

also sometimes when i have to manual reboot, the LED flickers. it will keep blinking until i have restarted the computer. i heard that this sort of thing sounds like it is due to overheating... however i do not think this is the case... my cpu is relatively cool... and it seems to ONLY happen upon manual reboot.

im running win 98, p3 700, 128ram, azus mb.

 
disable your virus scanner and reboot a couple of times, and see what happens, if that doesnt do anything, open up your case leave it open for a while and then reboot see if its a cooling issue. otherwise, you are SOL :--)
