rebooting my PC.

I got a problem hope you can help. My PC is quite new, WinXP, 512MB Ram, 3Ghz speed Intel chip inside. The problem is that when I restart the PC, the Intel sign takes about 5 minutes before the PC can run. Any suggestion? Austine

Might be a case of bad RAM. Do you have any you can swap in to test it?

It might be due to your bios settings. At least with my old Dell there used to be a "quickboot" option that basically removed all the OEM screens and sped up a lot of the boot process.

What intel sign are you referring to? I assume you have an intel motherboard, you might want to just reset the bios defaults. Also, pausing at the bios screen can be caused by a bad drive (cdrom, hard drive) or mis-configured jumpers.

Usualy it doesnt show, at first I believe but this I think is the intel sign showing which chipset is in the motherbord.
