Rebooting issues during Vista32 Clean Install

I have been trying to load Vista Home Premium 32 SP1 OEM all evening. Whenever the install gets to a restart point, it goes back to the very first screen (Language selection), then the EULA agree, Product Key, INstall type, etc.

It appears to get all the way down to Installing Updates, then hits a restart, and I am back to square 1. Good thing I partitioned 100MB for the OS, as it looks like almost 40MB has been consumed! Multiple versions with .old extensions(?)

I have checked my boot set up in the BIOS and made sure it is set to the CD/DVD, and it prompts me to press any key to boot to the DVD.

How do I get around this and finish the install?

Thanks

It sounds like your system does not have its boot-device priority list and/or its HDD priority list set correctly in the BIOS. Set it to boot from your boot HDD now, since the first stage of Windows setup is done and it's time for it to begin booting from the hard drive.

Are you "pressing any key" to boot to the DVD after you've installed Vista? If so, don't do that after it reboots. That will re-start the install all over again.

That was it, thanks. Somehow (maybe I forgot to press "any key") it finally finished.
