rebooting & F@H

is there a way to reboot your computer during the middle of a fold & get back to the same sequence without losing your previous work? THX

Mostly. It depends upon which client you are using. The SMP clients are fickle. Sometimes you can reboot and lose nothing. Other times you can reboot and lose everything.

Version 5.91 of the SMP client is the "less stable" one. SMP 5.92 and all of the single-processor clients are unaffected by reboots.

I find that it resets more if I don't shut down the client before restarting. It seems that about 75% of the time after a hard lock, the data is lost and I have to start over.

Myself, I always disconnect from the network before closing the client (or restarting after a hard lock).

If I can use the Local Area Connection icon in the SysTray next to the clock I disconnect that way otherwise I unplug the cable.

I have had good success doing this!

so far so good- nothing lost after several reboots (knock on wood). . . .i'd be mighty upset if i was 1450/1500 & had to start over.
