This might sound weird, but I'm wondering if NOT rebooting your computer after using it a long time, then running 3Dmark 2001 will lower your score. It's just that I'm fiddling w/ settings and I want accurate results. I WOULD sit here and test it out myself, but I'm just too damn lazy :) anyone know?

It does some, how much I suppose would depend on how much of your resources were available.

Win98/ME - Yes, definitely.
Win2K - Probably not.

It depends how much of your system is currently in the page (swap) file, how much memory you have etc etc. You can get utils which defrag and free up as much memory as possible, in effect the same (or better) than a clean boot.
