Rebates on the Nissan Maxima?

I've got an Xterra now. Though I love it to death, it is ABSOLUTELY KILLING me on gas (since I drive back and forth between NY and Boston just about every weekend now).

So I've decided to do a trade-in for the Maxima, but I'm not in a huge rush and was hoping to catch one of Nissan's big Cash Back programs that they run sometimes on the Maxima (I've heard up to $3,000!!!).

Any ideas?

Will u really save that much between an xterra and a 222 horsepower full sized sedan? I realize you'll save some, but it may not be worth the price of trading in...
 
The Trade isn't specifically about the gas mileage, but also that the Maxima has more power and is going to be a better ride.

I'm getting about 16-17mpg on the highway now with the Xterra, the Maxima is rated for 26.

Had I been THINKING instead of drooling about getting the Xterra, I would have been logical and bought the Maxima in the first place. So I know I'll be taking a chunky wallet hit for switching, but it's best in the long run.
 
Nissan dealer in my area is offering 3.9 financing over 60 months on Maxima and Altimas. Not sure on any cash backs.
 
Oooooo, 3.9% is DAMNED nice! over time that's a considerable savings as well.
