Rebate receipt= "original" receipt?

Is the original rebate receipt the same thing as the "original receipt" companies ask for when sending in a rebate. I was just on my way to OfficeMax to pick up multiple free AR items, but I didn't know whether or not I would need to purchase each item seperately so I could send in the "original" recipts. Or are the small printouts of the rebate receipts considered original receipts as well? I don't want to walk out of there with 8 different original receipts just to get the rebates.

Every rebate I have ever done will take a copy of the original receipt, or the rebate receipt which is sometimes given to you at the POS.

I believe the reason for this is the fact that if you ever have to return the item or make a claim under the warranty, you will almost always
need the original receipt.

Just ask them to print a copy at the register for each rebate.
