Generally they will state somewhere that the rebate is only good for 1 per household or something like that. But it couldn't hurt to try.

OCZ has answered your question if you'd take the time to actually read the rebate form...

"Restrictions: Only one rebate per qualifying product per promotion and
limit one rebate per household per promotion. Multiple purchases on a
single product only qualify for one rebate per promotion
.

It is illegal to submit multiple rebate requests for the same product purchased. Use
of multiple addresses or PO Boxes to obtain multiple rebate requests is
fraudulent and could result in federal prosecution under the U.S. Mail
Fraud Statutes (18 USC, Sections 1341-1342)."

I just bought some Crucial Ballistix tracer RAM last month 2 (2x1GB) kits from newegg.com and the rebate form said max 2 per household. So I sent in two separate forms in two separate letters. I've tried sending in two rebates in one letter, and that company burned me by only sending one rebate back. Bastards ;-) So now I send each one separately.

I hate mail-in rebates, period! I like instant rebates, however. There you can get one for each item bought. In general, rebates are marketing ploys - unless instant, I don't pay much attention to them. Why not just lower the price as "On Sale.?"

Because companies know that there won't be 100% rebate participation.
It's a way to generate "on sale" like interest yet not have to give up 100% of the proceeds from the rebates.

It is a "marketing ploy" because it works. People that are religious about their rebates, say in the "Hot Deals" forum, come out smelling like a rose. While the lazy or forgetful people end up paying full price because they didn't mail in time, etc.

The bottom line on rebates is that if you want a product at a discounted price...
Read and understand the rebate requirements stated by the rebating companies, BEFORE you purchase the items.

I did the rebate thing for a long time until I got screwed on the Foxconn rebate where you had to write on the outside of the envelope and all that friggin' BS. I jumped through all their hoops, and then started reading that they were systematically ignoring everyone's requests.

I've sworn off rebates. I could have tried to raise a stink with Foxconn (through Newegg as others did) but I just decided to get even and never buy one of their products again.

I send copies of every piece of documentation relating to the specific rebate purchase.

And I mean everything!

Doesn't matter if they ask for it, or not. Every packing slip, order slip, reciept, UPC code, you name it, they get a copy or the origional by the required date.

I've gotten every rebate I have requested.
