Rebate forms in PDF

I'm getting fvcking sick of rebates giving me crap because it's "illegible" so I just filled out this Canon rebate right in Acrobat. Thing is, the PDF wasn't originally set up with text fields, I created them. Is it safe to mail this, or will the rebate nazis deny me my $70?

Dude, my name is long, and they give you a space like one inch long for both first and last on half these fvcking forms.

I was going to say that if the PDF is set up with text fields, then no problem. But in this case, I would print out the copy and print by hand, carefully and slowly. They love any excuse not to honor a rebate, and sometimes they say stuff about "machine reproduced" entries and stuff.

EDIT: Abbreviate your name somehow? (Well enough that the post man will still deliver the check to your box. The bank won't care either when you deposit it.)

EDIT 2: Or enlarge the print-out to eliminate the margins on the form in order to get a little extra room.

All it says is "This form". Technically, the hard copy isn't even "This form" because "This form" is located on Canon's webserver.

Your name isn't long.

there's a good program my husband uses (he's pretty into rebates too) to keep track of all his rebates. he meticulously does things according to the book: he scans all receipts, keeps track of all PDFs (and scans those too), and uses the program to keep track of all rebates he's filled out forms for.

rebate rebate

give it a try, and if it fails, you can always just harass them. having good tracking software is important though if you fear that you may not get your requested rebate.

edit: this program is no longer supported by the developer, but it's a very good one nonetheless.
