Curious as to how many people are using these big holiday rebates.

I'm trying to stay away from rebates myself... but i unknowingly walked into CompUSA?s 6hr sale Wednesday, and ended up with a bunch of wireless gear.

So far though only $218 in rebates, on $268 worth of purchases

UPDATE.. doh Make that $318 out of $567

lucked out and got the last $199( $299 - $70 instant - $30 MIR) PNY 6800 from Compusa ..

I think I've got about $130 or so in rebates. Got the DVD writer and 50-pack of DVD-Rs for $48 after rebates, but I spent about $180 at Office Max on those two things and 4 or 5 things that are FAR. Omax was terribly disorganized this morning, though... it took half an hour to find all the things and 2 1/2 more to check out. We didn't get out of the store until just after 10.

Rebates are great so long as they come otherwise you end up overpaying for something you could have bought from newegg.com
